Valley Lodge is situated close to Exmoor National Park. The stunning valley views are magnificent, pheasants and other birds are plentiful, and dramatic country walks can be enjoyed. Minehead with its sandy beaches, and Dunster with its quaint village and spectacular castle, are just 20 minutes away. The Grand Western Canal and Bickleigh Castle are close by. The cathedral city of Exeter for shops, restaurants, theatre and racecourse, is approximately 20 miles. Walkers and cyclists will enjoy the Tarka Trail which stretches from Dartmoor to Exmoor. Further afield there are numerous beaches that are wonderful for surfers and sunbathers alike. For those wanting a more cultural experience, the area has an abundance of National Trust properties such as Knightshayes Court and Killerton as well as other places of interest such as Tiverton Castle, Bickleigh Mill and Tiverton Canal. Local villages and sites include Dunkery Beacon, Porlock, Landacre, Dulverton and Wimbleball Lake.
