Nearby is the busy port of Ipswich, which boasts several medieval churches and some fine 16th-century buildings. The Museum and Art Gallery houses replicas of the famous Sutton Hoo archaeological finds, and Christchurch Mansion, set in a large park, is a lively domestic museum with furniture, doll’s houses and children’s toys, as well as a fine art collection.
