The town is served by a unique horse drawn coach service known as ‘The Holt Flyer’ connecting the railway station to the town, which is about three quarters of a mile away, at Kelling. The North Norfolk Railway (the Poppy Line) runs along the Norfolk coast onto Sheringham. Excellent walking enjoyed from the doorstep, with designated footpaths and Holt Lowes Country Park; an area of SSSI and a tranquil setting of almost 100 acres of mature woodland adjoining the heathland and River Glaven with broadrides and way marked walks. One of the routes is designed for ease of use by the less mobile or for families with pushchairs. Interesting features within the park include totem pole, carved stile, play area and viewing tower. Good cycling opportunities from the doorstep. Cley-next-the-Sea and Blakeney quay, 5 miles. Wells-next-the-Sea and Holkham for excellent sandy beaches, 12 miles.
