Accommodation overview: Loughrigg Holme sits underneath the much loved fell of the same name and was once the home of Wordsworths daughter, Dora and her husband Edward Quillinan, Rich in literary history connections, visitors to Loughrigg Holme have included Charlotte Bronte, the poet Matthew Arnold and Harriet Martineau. This chocolate box property,originally a farmhouse, built in 17th century and extended in the early 19th century is a beautiful example of a traditional Lakeland residence, her 2 1/2 acres of gardens and fellside including croquet lawn blending effortlessly into the slopes of Loughrigg and displaying a wealth of ancient shrubs and flora, cleverly married with more formal patio, lawn areas and natural water fall.
