Abbots Court Cottages are situated in undulating countryside next to a working dairy farm. There are numerous local walks through woodland and pasturelands, offering superb views of Malvern Hills, Bredon Hill and the Cotswolds. Golf is available - there are two golf courses within three miles. There is fishing in the nearby trout lakes in Church Lench and in the River Avon in Evesham. Horse riding is also available locally. Within easy drive of Stratford-upon-Avon, Malvern, Worcester, Warwick, Cheltenham and the many pretty Cotswold villages.
The area is very fortunate to be the home of many National Trust properties - Hidcote Manor Garden, Showshill Manor, Coughton Court, Brockhampton Estate, Charlecote Park, Croome Park, Hanbury Hall, Middle Little Tithe Barn and The Fleece Inn at Bretforton. There are also a number of English Heritage properties including Whitley Court. The Malvern Spring Flower show has become a major attraction over recent years as well as The Three Counties Agricultural Show and the Autumn Show. For those who enjoy gardening, there are many local nurseries, garden centres and gardens to visit in the NGS yellow book. The local area boasts excellent pubs, many of which serve good meals using locally sourced ingredients. The owners have a wealth of information to help guests enjoy their holiday. Seven out of the ten holiday cottages have been tastefully converted from old farm buildings dating back to the 1860s and The Old Court House is a much earlier timber framed barn. Standing in the centre of the town in an elevated position above the River Teme is the splendid ruin of Ludlow Castle which plays host to open-air theatre and the Ludlow Festival held in June and July. Many National Trust properties and gardens are well worth a visit, including Hergest Croft Gardens.
