These 2 characterful barn conversations (Lilac Studio property number 118169) have an interconnecting door and may be let separately or together for up to 6 people and situated in the village of Newton Reigny the Lilacs was originally a farm and the 2 cottages were the Byre and adjoining barn. More recently it was the home to Simon Bull, a well known Cumbrian artist and Lilac Studio was where he did his painting. Accommodation overview: This delightful Lakeland cottage, which was converted from a former barn adjoining Low Hall, enjoys a peaceful and idyllic setting in the picturesque North Western Lakes. Low Hall lies between Cockermouth and Lorton in the most tranquil location, surrounded by woodland and open fields with views to the Lakeland fells. There is an abundance of wildlife, including deer, badgers, red squirrels, hares, buzzards and other birds of prey, and over 40 different bird species have been recorded. A stream, Little Sandy Beck runs through the cottage garden with a bridge into the woodland beyond. There is a bridleway from the house and a beautiful riverside walk along the river Cocker to Lorton and Cockermouth.

Accommodation overview: Beck House is a truly stunning barn conversion next to Thacka (a small beck), Penriths ancient watercourse, in this historic market town and providing luxurious self catering accommodation at a realistic price. It is situated only 2 minutes walk from the town centre, at the end of a residential cul-de-sac. The site was previously the home to one of the oldest breweries in the North, until its closure in the early 1900s. Beck House was the brewery warehouse, built in the 18th century and converted in 2010 utilising much of the original sandstone and reclaimed timber to retain the character, but furnished and equipped with the finest quality furnishings and fittings. Penrith is well provided with amenities, including pubs, restaurants and shops and is easily accessible by car, coach or rail. It is 2 minutes drive from junction 40 on the M6 and 5 minutes walk from the train station. The owners can pick guests up from the station if required, they also provide a meet and greet service on arrival.
