Accommodation overview: Ellwood is the very pinnacle of quality. We marketed it for many years as a 3 bedroom property, until 2011/12 when the owner made several alterations and improvements and relaunched it as a fabulous 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom property, suitable for 2 families or several couples. This 1830s stone barn was converted by the owner into luxury accommodation retaining many original features, including exposed stone walls and beamed ceilings and complemented with luxurious furnishings and exceptional facilities. All principal rooms have double or triple aspect with views to the Lakeland fells, Solway and the Scottish lowlands. Accommodation overview: Yew Tree Farm is a truly stunning property steeped in history and with a wealth of character every guest is sure to appreciate. Modernised by the owner to the very highest specification with every conceivable modern day convenience, luxuriously furnished, and equipped to an excellent standard. The garden is a real feature of the house. Known as the Image Garden, it is laid out in Italianate style and is full of statues and sculptures created by a previous owner in the early 19th Century - the multitalented Thomas Bland, artist, poet, composer and scientist. Every year they held a garden party for up to 1400 people to celebrate the accession of Queen Victoria. The property can accommodate up to 15 people, ideal for large family gatherings or walking parties. Reagill is a delightful village situated in the unspoilt Eden Valley. This area is probably Cumbrias best-kept secret, with picture postcard villages and beautiful rolling countryside. It is ideal for walking and cycling and offers fishing on the Eden. Nearby attractions include Brougham Castle, Acorn Bank house and gardens, Rheged Discovery centre and Wetheriggs Pottery. Reagill is easily accessible from the M6 and just a stones throw from The Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and Scottish Borders. Situated in the village of Lamplugh in a wonderful rural location 6 miles south of Cockermouth, it is close to Loweswater, Ennerdale Water and Crummock Water. This peaceful non-commercialised area of the Lake District is the perfect setting for a romantic break. Fishing is available locally at Cogra Moss, which is within walking distance and there are many other beautiful walks locally. The Coast to Coast cycle route goes past the front door and the award winning Kirkstile Inn is close by for bar meals. Cockermouth is well worth a visit, with shops, restaurants, Brewery Tours and the Lakeland Sheep and Wool centre to name a few of the attractions. Trotters Animal World is a mere 20 minute drive and the seaside town of St Bees is a similar distance.
