Accommodation overview: Built around 1670 and steeped in history, with beams which were once sailing ships spars, this holiday cottage, one of a row, became the home in 1759 to Thomas Paine, a founding father of the U.S.A. and French Republic and contains a collection of Revolutionary War literature including works by Paine. Ideally located for exploring this former Cinque Port town. Shop and pub 25 yards.

Take a boat trip from beautiful Sandwich Quay along the River Stour to Richborough Roman Fort and explore the Roman gateway to Kent. Visit the National Nature Reserve and Bird Observatory at Sandwich and Pegwell Bay, one of the most beautiful stretches of the Kent Coast. Three golf courses including the Championship Royal St Georges are close by. Shops and pub ¼ mile.
