Accommodation overview: GRADE II LISTED CONVERSION FULL OF CHARACTER The Old Stables has exposed beams, latched doors and the original stable doors which now act as shutters for the beautiful arched windows. Peacefully situated in the small village of Stawell, located beside the Polden Hills and close to the Somerset Levels, nature reserves and walks, fishing can also be accessed. An ideal base for a touring holiday, whether by car or bicycle and is centrally positioned for the nearby towns of Street, famous for Clarks shopping village and historical Glastonbury known for its Abbey, Tor and annual 'Extravaganza' in August. Further afield is Wells at the foot of the Mendip Hills with its cathedral and farmer's market on Wednesday mornings. Other local attractions include Cheddar Caves and Gorge, Wookey Hole and the beaches at Burnham-On-Sea, Brean Sands and Weston-Super-Mare. Try some of the famous Cheddar cheese and local Somerset cider. A short drive brings you to the Quantock Hills and the beautiful Somerset coast which includes Minehead and Porlock Weir. Close by is the West Somerset Railway and historic town of Dunster with its castle. In nearby Yeovilton there is the largest Fleet Air Arm Museum in Europe.
