Accommodation overview: With uninterrupted views over Budle Bay to Holy Island, this detached, converted barn is situated on Northumberland’s highly desirable Heritage coast in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. With enclosed lawned gardens of circa half an acre it is the perfect location to sit and relax, whilst admiring the stunning scenery. This unique property offers spacious holiday accommodation with original vaulted beamed rooms, wood-burning stove and hand crafted kitchen. It is ideally located to explore this beautiful unspoilt county peppered with small friendly villages, fishing harbours, hills and valleys.
Bamburgh Castle is a magnificent sight, set high above the beach it towers over the small village Bamburgh. It is only a few minutes’ drive away, and visitors can enjoy refreshment in one of the quaint inns and tea rooms and also browse around the Grace Darling Museum. Three miles to the south lies the seaside village of Seahouses which is the embarkation point for boat trips to the Farne Islands where the colonies of Grey Seals and migrating birds can be seen. The whole area is famous for its many castles, golf courses and stately homes. Half an hours drive to the south lies Alnwick castle (famous as the backdrop for the Harry Potter and Braveheart films) and its enchanting water gardens and tree house. Inland, the Cheviots with wooded valleys and open moorland are ideal for exploration by walkers, cyclists and motorists. Holy Island a short drive away is one of the oldest sites of Christianity in Britain. Berwick-upon-Tweed with its ancient walls is a 30-minute drive north, while Newcastle with its regenerated quayside, fine shops and theatre is around 1 hour away. Accommodation overview: With spectacular views over Budle Bay across to Holy Island, this exceptional single-storey holiday property is situated on Northumberland’s Heritage coast in an AONB, famous for its bird life and miles of sandy beaches. The house is just a 5-minute walk from the beach, therefore the position of the house and its large enclosed garden make it the perfect location for relaxing whilst admiring the beach views and stunning sunsets. This stone built home is one of a pair and offers traditional, spacious and very elegant family accommodation with wooden beams and an open fire. It is ideally located to explore the beautiful unspoilt county peppered with small friendly villages, fishing harbours, hills and valleys. Bamburgh Castle is a magnificent sight, set high above the beach it towers over the small village and is only a few minutes’ drive where quaint inns, tea rooms and the Grace Darling Museum can be found. Three miles south lies the bustling little seaside village of Seahouses where boat trips can be taken to the Farne Islands to visit the grey seals and migrating sea birds nesting on the islands which are owned by the NT and maintained as a nature reserve. This whole area is famous for its many castles, golf courses and stately homes. Alnwick Castle, famous for Harry Potter and Braveheart films, with its enchanting water gardens, cobbled streets and Georgian houses is only half an hour south of Budle Bay. Inland head towards the Cheviots to explore wooded valleys and open moorland ideal for walkers, cyclists or motoring. Holy Island reached by a causeway at low tide and one of the oldest sites of Christianity in Britain, is a short drive (check the tides). Berwick-upon-Tweed with its ancient walls takes approximately 30 minutes, while Newcastle with its regenerated quayside, fine shops and theatre is 1 hour. An unspoilt county that will need to be revisited to appreciate all it has to offer. Shops 2 miles.
