New Inn House is also ideal for visiting Cheltenham, and the Gustav Holst Museum, Evesham – reputedly Lady Godiva’s site of burial, and Tewkesbury. In addition to the many historic Cotswold villages and towns, the surrounding countryside is excellent terrain for walking; a climb to the summit of the Worcestershire Beacons affords marvellous views of lush green Hereford and the flat expanses of the Severn Valley. The property is one of a pair, renovated to a very good standard with slate floors, oak doors and central heating. The living room has a wood-burning stove, the large family dining room/kitchen is well equipped and has a huge oak dining table and a full-size pool table with views over the garden and fields beyond. The garden has a separate half-acre paddock, plenty of parking and the use of a garage/games room - ideal for storing bikes and other equipment.
Birlingham church is especially beautiful in late January and February with its blankets of snowdrops and crocuses. The local pub serves homemade food and a selection of real ales. The foot of Bredon Hill is a short walk, with many cycle/bridle and footpaths which lead to some of the Bredon villages and pubs. The local market town of Pershore is close by with its abbey, theatre, interesting shops and restaurants. Other attractions include Upton-on-Severn jazz and blues festivals, Tewkesbury Abbey and rivers, Malvern Hills, town and Three Counties Showground, Cheltenham Racecourse, Evesham and its Blossom Trail, Gloucester and Worcester Cathedrals with the Three Choirs Festival, Stratford-upon-Avon and the Cotswolds, Sudeley and Eastnor Castles and many National Trust properties including Hanbury Hall, Greyfriars, the Fleece Inn at Bretforton, Croome Landscape Park and Hidcote Manor Gardens.
