Only 3 miles to the historic market town of Congleton, which holds a farmers market twice weekly. Visit Gawsworth Hall an ancient, manor house or spend a day at the stately home of Capesthorne Hall with its 100 acres of Cheshire lakes and parkland.
Visit Stockley Farm for tractor rides and lamb feeding. Monkey Forest is 20 miles away, with 60-acres of woodland which is home in total freedom for 140 monkeys. Book a days’ tuition including equipment at a shooting lodge. Horse riding and stabling nearby with excellent facilities for the horse owner.
The old market town of Macclesfield with its shops and cafes are well worth a visit or walk the canal tow path to the lovely village of Bollington. The property is near to The Peak District, spend the day at Chatsworth House and Estate or the spa town of Buxton, with its theatre and beautiful gardens. Antique fairs and French market can often be found here. Take a trip to Castleton caves famous for its Blue John stone or take in the museums, art galleries, restaurants and shops that Manchester city has to offer. Shop and pub 21/2 miles.

Accommodation overview: Tucked away behind electric gates in the beautiful Cheshire countryside, this substantial 18th-century detached farmhouse has been recently renovated and is very well equipped, yet still retains all its charm and character. The spacious, bright and inviting accommodation featuring exposed brick fireplaces, wooden beams, galleried landing and lead light windows, plus all the recreational facilities on offer, combine to make this an ideal holiday experience. The well laid out and mature gardens with a well stocked decorative pond provides a secluded, attractive and relaxing environment. Within the grounds is private stabling for up to three horses available for guests. A further part of the extensive grounds comprise 30 acres of farmland including 8 acres of woodland with forest trail which boasts livery stabling and its own fishing lake complete with cabin. On the woodland walk there are several summer houses conveniently placed where guests can rest and take in the sights and sounds of the abundant wildlife to be found all around. Many of the region’s country estates and historic houses such as Tatton Park, Arley Hall, Dunham House and Gawsworth Hall, to name but a few, are within easy reach and a golf course is on the doorstep. The historic village of Knutsford offers an abundance of top class restaurants and cafes together with its individual shopping facilities along its narrow streets. The Cheshire Smokehouse in Wilmslow is well worth a visit. The airport is miles, Manchester and the Trafford Centre, 8 miles, Old Trafford cricket ground, 15 miles. Chester and Liverpool are 28 miles and the Peak District, with its stunning scenery and many attractions is only 20 miles. Wales or The Lake District can be reached in 1-2 hours. Shops and pub 1½ miles.
