Accommodation overview: This award-winning, Grade II listed, 17th-century threshing barn conversion is located in the heart of Doddington’s conservation area. Adjacent to the 12th-century church, Shire Barn is steeped in history, yet combines state-of-the-art entertainment facilities within the original fabric of the house. The holiday accommodation is for up to ten guests with five first floor bedrooms; four double and one twin. The open plan downstairs is perfect for medium to large gatherings, featuring a spacious living area, large double storey glazed windows, 8ft screen home cinema system, large, fully-equipped kitchen as well as a fully equipped office with broadband. Accommodation overview: Dating back to 1763, this delightful, spacious, part-thatched detached cottage is steeped in history. Once the village pub, it has now been converted to provide a comfortable holiday home which is ideal for family celebrations or get togethers with friends. The Old Three Horseshoes has a wealth of exposed beams and large inglenook fireplace in the living room, a vaulted beamed ceiling in the dining-room and a large lawned garden. Situated in the village of Shudy Camps the surrounding area is ideal for walkers, boasting many fine walks, some right from the doorstep. The property is very close to the Horseheath race track. The historic city of Cambridge with its famous colleges, museums and punting on the River Cam is 15 miles away, and there is a regular bus to the city which leaves from opposite the cottage and takes 30 minutes. The Old Three Horseshoes is an ideal base for exploring Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Essex. Other nearby places of interest include the Imperial War Museum at Duxford (10 miles), Mole Hill Wildlife Park (8 miles) and Linton Zoo (5 miles). Spend a day at the nearby Newmarket races (11 miles) or visit the market town of Saffron Walden with its range of interesting shops and restaurants. There are good rail links to London from nearby Audley End and the property is also conveniently located for Stansted Airport. Shops and pub 2 miles.
