Rockliffe Hall is nestled between the quiet villages of Hurworth-on-Tees and Croft-on-Tees in County Durham, in easy reach of the city of Durham, with its magnificent Norman cathedral and 900 year old castle. These landmarks hark back to the time when the city was ruled by ‘Prince Bishops’ - more recently the cathedral was the setting for ‘Hogwarts’ school in the Harry Potter movies. The picturesque market town of Barnard Castle is just 20 minutes’ drive, while the popular Bowes Museum is easily reached. One of the region’s most famous sons is Captain Cook, famous for his voyages around the world and the mapping of Australasia.
