It lies on a hillside above the delightful village of Middleton-in-Teesdale (1 mile) which has a good variety of shops, pubs and tearooms. This beautiful area has many superb walks to offer and is designated an AONB, ideally placed in the Durham Dales with easy access to the Yorkshire Dales, Northumbria with its stunning sandy coastlines and even the Lake District an hour’s drive away.
