Lackford Lakes is a bird watchers’ paradise, created from reclaimed land beside the River Lark and consists of a diverse landscape with meadow, woodland, reed beds, streams and lakes. There is a never ending list of birds, deer, badgers and sometimes otters. Although located in the peaceful nature reserve, the barns, which have been sympathetically renovated to a high standard, are only 5 miles from historic Bury St Edmunds with its cathedral, abbey gardens and Georgian theatre, and 10 miles from Newmarket where visitors can enjoy a day at the races or visit the National Horseracing Museum. Also conveniently situated for the picturesque villages of Lavenham, Long Melford and Clare.
