Positioned just off the main coastal route, there is fantastic access to some of the most beautiful scenery in this area. There are seven good golf courses nearby, as well as many cycle paths and walks available from the door. The golden beaches at Beadnell, Newton and Embleton can be found within a couple of miles and Seahouses within 4 miles. From Seahouses, boat trips can be booked to visit the Farne Islands - famous for its bird and seal colonies. Craster, well known for its smoked kippers and seafood lies only 6 miles distant. Not to be missed is the famous town of Alnwick - home to Harry Potter’s ‘Hogwarts’, as well as the castle’s magnificent water garden and treehouse restaurant.
The Cheviot hills and moors are easily accessible as is the border town of Berwick-on-Tweed, with its ancient ramparts and wonderful coastal setting. Both Newcastle and the Metro Centre, for those who love shopping, are within easy driving distance. Shop and pub 2 miles.
